People's Republic of China – Uganda relations were established in 1962. Trade between the two countries was worth over US$400 million in 2011. The Ambassador of Uganda in China is Madibo Charles Wagidoso. ==Economic relations== By the end of 2011 over 265 Chinese companies had opened business worth US$ 596 million (about Shs 1.5 trillion) in Uganda. Creating over 28,000 jobs in sectors from petroleum, agriculture to infrastructure development and others. Among these is the oil company CNOOC, which early in 2012 acquired one third of the exploitation of Uganda's oil in the Albertine region of Uganda and will be involved in the construction of an oil refinery in the country.
